Install the extension
Add TestKase Accessibility Toolkit from the Chrome Web Store. It is free and does not require admin privileges.

Auto-sign-in from your session
Open DevTools and switch to the TestKase panel. The toolkit detects your active TestKase session and signs in silently.

Click Scan. Results appear in the panel and sync to your workspace so teammates can pick them up without a fresh audit.

No. The Chrome toolkit is free and works with every TestKase plan, including free. All scans sync to your workspace at no additional cost.
It is built on Chrome Manifest V3 and runs unchanged in any Chromium browser that supports the Chrome Web Store catalogue — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera and Arc. It is a Chrome extension, so for a scan in another engine, or on a machine that is not yours, use a hosted scan and choose the browser there.
activeTab (scan the tab you are on), storage (persist your session and history), scripting (inject the axe-core rule engine), tabs (know which tab DevTools is attached to), and debugger (read the inspected page over the Chrome DevTools protocol). Host access is limited to the TestKase API — there is no <all_urls> permission and no cookie access.
If you are already signed in to TestKase in the browser, the toolkit does a silent handoff and you are in. Otherwise a one-time sign-in tab opens. Tokens auto-refresh in the background, so you stay signed in across restarts. Log out either in the toolkit panel or in the TestKase web app — both trigger a sign-out everywhere.
Yes. The toolkit audits whatever is in the active tab, including localhost, dev environments and password-protected staging URLs — you are already signed in via the browser. Each scan is the active tab as it stands: there is no schedule or unattended run, so recurring coverage is a scheduled scan, which needs a URL our side can reach. Walking a journey and keeping the states apart is a workflow audit.
Scan findings — rule IDs, selectors, severity, and the HTML snippet of the failing element — are sent to TestKase so they can be saved to your workspace. The toolkit also uploads a snapshot of the page HTML, so the element inspector can replay a finding after the tab is gone; stored snapshots are always served back as plain text, never a runnable page. Treat a scan of a page showing real customer data the same way you would treat a screenshot of it. Your cookies are never read or transmitted. It is the same rule engine as a hosted scan, so it reaches the same subset of WCAG — running it locally makes it faster to use, not more complete.
